A song of ascents.
1 என் சிறுவயது தொடங்கி அநேகந்தரம் என்னை நெருக்கினார்கள்.
1 A song of ascents. Many a time they have persecuted me from my youth—let Israel now declare—
1 ‟என் இளமை முதற்கொண்டே என்னைப் பெரிதும் துன்புறுத்தினார்கள்" – இஸ்ரயேல் மக்கள் சொல்வார்களாக!
2 என் சிறுவயது தொடங்கி அநேகந்தரம் என்னை நெருக்கியும், என்னை மேற்கொள்ளாமற்போனார்கள்.
2 many a time they have persecuted me from my youth, but they have not prevailed against me.
2 ‟என் இளமை முதற்கொண்டே என்னைப் பெரிதும் துன்புறுத்தினார்கள்; எனினும், அவர்கள் என்மீது வெற்றி பெறவில்லை.
3 உழுகிறவர்கள் என் முதுகின்மேல் உழுது தங்கள் படைச்சால்களை நீளமாக்கினார்கள்.
3 The plowmen plowed over my back; they made their furrows long.
3 உழவர் என் முதுகின்மீது உழுது நீண்ட படைச்சால்களை உண்டாக்கினர்."
4 கர்த்தரோ நீதியுள்ளவர்; துன்மார்க்கருடைய கயிறுகளை அவர் அறுத்தார் என்று, இஸ்ரவேல் இப்பொழுது சொல்வதாக.
4 The LORD is righteous; He has cut me from the cords of the wicked.
4 ஆண்டவர் நீதியுள்ளவர்; எனவே, பொல்லார் கட்டிய கயிறுகளை அவர் அறுத்தெறிந்தார்.
5 சீயோனைப் பகைக்கிற அனைவரும் வெட்கிப் பின்னிட்டுத் திரும்பக்கடவர்கள்.
5 May all who hate Zion be turned back in shame.
5 சீயோனைப் பகைக்கும் அனைவரும் அவமானப்பட்டுப் புறமுதுகிடுவராக!
6 வீட்டின்மேல் முளைக்கும் புல்லுக்கு அவர்கள் ஒப்பாவார்களாக; அது வளருமுன் உலர்ந்துபோம்.
6 May they be like grass on the rooftops, which withers before it can grow,
6 கூரைமேல் முளைக்கும் புல்லுக்கு அவர்கள் ஒப்பாவார்கள்; வளருமுன் அது உலர்ந்துபோகும்.
7 அறுக்கிறவன் அதினால் தன் கையையும், அரிகளைக் கட்டுகிறவன் தன் மடியையும் நிரப்புவதில்லை.
7 unable to fill the hands of the reaper, or the arms of the binder of sheaves.
7 அதை அறுப்போரின் கைக்கு, ஒரு பிடி கூடக் கிடைக்காது; அரிகளைச் சேர்த்தால் ஒரு சுமைகூடத் தேறாது.
8 கர்த்தருடைய ஆசீர்வாதம் உங்களுக்கு உண்டாவதாக; கர்த்தரின் நாமத்தினால் உங்களை ஆசீர்வதிக்கிறோம் என்று வழிப்போக்கர் சொல்வதுமில்லை.
8 May none who pass by say to them, “The blessing of the LORD be on you; we bless you in the name of the LORD.”
8 வழிப்போக்கரும் அவர்களைப் பார்த்து, 'ஆண்டவர் உங்களுக்கு ஆசி வழங்குவாராக!' என்றோ 'ஆண்டவரின் பெயரால் ஆசி வழங்குகிறோம்' என்றோ சொல்லார்.
